Enjoying the Outdoors

Work lost power on Wednesday and I was able to come home early. Needless to say I was SUPER excited. I pulled out our little swimming pools and let the boys play in them.

This is our pet tree frog. His name is Pebble.

Iris's are my favorite flower. Remember those How-to-draw shows on PBS  like "The Joy of Painting"? Well, I used to watch those all the time and the first flower I ever attempted to draw was an Iris. It's been my favoirte ever since.

Lost Generation

This is a video that was submitted in a contest by a 20-year old Johnathan Reed. The contest was titled "u @ 50" by AARP. This video won second place. When they showed it, everyone in the room was awe-struck and broke into spontaneous applause. So simple and yet so brilliant.

Holland Tulip Festival

We snagged my sister (and family) and headed over to the Holland Tulip Festival. We got lost twice... even with a GPS! That deserves some kind of award.

The kiddies were great most of the day, posing for endless pictures.

They still needed to run around to burn off some of that energy and there was a large field for them to do just that. There were reinactors set up all over which was really interesting.

I got the boys flutes. Worst purcahse idea EVER. I should know better by now about buying things that make a lot of noise. Jamie was trying a new way to play.
